Evan Myles Byrne
Evan Myles Byrne is an Irish–American tenor and graduate of the Royal Irish Academy of Music, where he studied under Dr Imelda Drumm. His roles include Ferrando (Così fan tutte), Don Basilio and Don Curzio (Le nozze di Figaro), Don Ottavio (Don Giovanni), and Ernesto in Haydn’s La vera costanza. Equally at home in modern repertoire, he has appeared as The Man with the Shoe-Sample Kit in Dominic Argento’s Postcards from Morocco.
Recent seasons have seen him expand across French and Italian repertoire, performing Giuseppe and Gastone (La traviata), as well as Don Cairo, Remendado, and Morales (Carmen). In summer 2025 he made his most ambitious debut to date, singing Don José at the Vienna Opera Festival.
Before turning fully to opera, Evan spent a decade in the entertainment industry as a professional magician and performance entrepreneur, curating original shows from the age of twelve. He is also a composer and an award-winning ballroom and Latin dancer. His first opera—CATHBAD, an original three-act work with his own libretto—was first published in 2023, with the completed first edition of the vocal score released in May 2025.
