Andrei Maksimov
Andrei Maksimov is a baritone known for his powerful voice and commanding stage presence. A graduate of the St. Petersburg State Conservatory in 2020, Andrei honed his skills with roles such as Onegin in Eugene Onegin, Guglielmo in Così fan tutte, and George Germont in La Traviata. He further developed his artistry at the Mariinsky Theatre Young Singers Academy and the Academy of the Teatro Comunale Modena, where he expanded his repertoire with roles like Fiorello in Il barbiere di Siviglia and Il Barone di Trombonok in Il viaggio a Reims. His international career grew as he participated in the Berlin Opera Academy, portraying Eisenstein in Die Fledermaus. He earned recognition at the 8th George Enesco Vocal Competition in Paris, winning Third Prize and the Public Prize. In the 2022/23 season, Andrei performed in key roles at the Opera Studio of the Opéra National du Rhin, including Don Magnifico in La Cenerentola and the Mandarin in Turandot, receiving critical acclaim for his dramatic intensity and vocal depth. Andrei's performances in 2023 included Enrico in Il Campanello at the Opéra de Chambre de Genève and a First Prize win at the Hans Staud Musikpreis in Vienna. He completed a Master’s in Specialized Music Performance: Opera at the Bern University of Applied Sciences.
Currently a member of the Opera Studio at the Wiener Staatsoper, Andrei's 2024/25 season includes roles such as Paris in Roméo et Juliette, Donald in Billy Budd, and Fiorello in Il barbiere di Siviglia. His upcoming performances at the Vienna Opera Festival, including Guglielmo in Così fan tutte and the title role in Don Giovanni, promise to showcase his vocal brilliance and interpretative skills. Andrei Maksimov continues to build a strong, promising career in opera.
